'If you love something let it go.. if it comes back its yours else it never was'..made perfect sense..till I was ... naive
Yet now it doesn't..somewhere I know better... somewhere I know its not the right thing to do always.. somewhere I realize there are imperfections in this perfect expectation..
Expectation??.. is that the person you let go realizes -
1. you did let go (What if he/she feels that you are still holding on...well he/she really dint value you then.. and he/she still won't value you now.. not much of a chance...)
2. knows deep down that you are waiting and will take him/her back (What if he/she just wants to believe that you are not waiting and conveniently convinces his/her mind otherwise...or even worse thinks you won't take him/her back because they committed an unforgivable mistake!)
3. most importantly becomes aware within an acceptable interval of time(Don't ask how to define) that he/she is "yours"!
But well.. If you did believe in the statement above, you can't really expect... and amazingly you still did...!
You still did.. You still do.. as when you apply it.. you wish with all your heart and soul, blood and body for him/her to come back!

Agreed at the first read, and then disagreed.
ReplyDeleteThe action is quite implicit. The phrase asks you to "let him/her go". Once you have done that, you will not bother whether or not -
1. He/she feels about you holding on.
2. He/she thinks about your wait.
3. He/she thinking that he/she is "yours"
Till the time these things ponder on your brain, you have not actually "let him/her go". You are just acting as if you have...
The phrase, in my opinion, is as pious as its age...
Don't agree...it says... 'if it comes back...'... and that line in itself is..the one which brings expectations!...
ReplyDeletesomewhere that expectation remains...until it is totally killed... by time... by someone else.. or by sheer intelligence/convinience!
